3D System Material
3D Systems materials are designed to optimize the performance of their respective print engines, providing engineers and manufacturers with predictable, high-quality results every time. The material chemistry is meticulously developed to cover a spectrum of properties, from rigid, high-detail plastics to specialized materials for patient-specific medical use.
3D Systems DLP Materials
Materials designed for the Figure 4 series utilize Digital Light Processing (DLP), a technology known for its exceptional speed and production-level throughput. These materials are characterized by their speed and stability, offering injection molding-like characteristics.
- Production Plastics (PRO-BLK 10, TOUGH-GRY 15): Highly stable, fast-printing resins used for production parts, functional prototypes, and small batch manufacturing. They exhibit properties similar to common engineering plastics like ABS and Polypropylene.
- High-Temperature Materials (HI TEMP 300-AMB): Resins capable of withstanding extreme temperatures, ideal for testing, tooling, and applications near engine components.
- Elastomers (RUBBER-65A BLK): Flexible, rubber-like materials used for grips, seals, gaskets, and functional components requiring high tear strength and elasticity.
3D Systems MJP Materials
The MultiJet Printing (MJP) technology uses VisiJet materials known for delivering parts with the smoothest surface finish and sharpest details, along with a hands-free wax support removal process.
- VisiJet Rigid Plastics (e.g., M2 R-WT, M2 R-CL): Photopolymers used for detailed prototypes, functional assemblies, and concept models where accuracy and a superior surface finish are essential.
- VisiJet Elastomeric Materials: Flexible materials that produce rubber-like parts for modeling soft-touch surfaces, gaskets, and fluidic applications.
- VisiJet Casting Wax (M2 ICast): Specialized, 100% wax material that melts out cleanly, leaving no ash residue, making it a perfect fit for the traditional lost-wax investment casting process in industries like jewelry and aerospace.
3D Systems NextDent Materials (Biocompatible Dental Resins)
The NextDent line is a dedicated family of materials for the digital dentistry market, fully certified and biocompatible for medical applications. These resins are critical for manufacturing patient-specific devices.
- NextDent Model: Resins optimized for printing highly accurate dental models (e.g., for thermoforming aligners).
- NextDent Indirect Bonding Trays & Orthodontic Resins: Materials designed for patient-specific orthodontic guides and splints.
- NextDent C&B (Crown & Bridge) and Denture Materials: Resins for creating temporary crowns, bridges, and full denture bases that are durable and clinically safe for intraoral use.
