Frequently Asked Questions

What part file formats are supported?

stl, stp, step, obj and wrl.

What is the 3D printing process for this material?

Armor 3D printing material is produced using 3D Systems ProJet 2500 3D printing technology. This technology jets layers of UV curable liquid plastic onto a flat platform. Wax support material is also jetted to fill voids and other non-freestanding features. UV lamps flash to solidify material creating a fully cured plastic part. Accuracy of the 3D Systems Projet 2500 3D printing technology is dependent on factors such as part geometry, part size, and post processing among other factors, but is approximately +/-0.1 mm (0.004 in).

Will there be support scarring on this part?

One of the main benefits of the ProJet 2500 3D printing technology from 3D Systems is accuracy and also support removal. The ProJet 2500 utilizes wax support material during the 3D printing process. During post processing the wax is simply melted away, leaving the cured plastic part with no support scarring. This also leaves small, delicate part features intact as well.

How long will it take before I receive my part in this material?

Production times vary depending on machine availability, but generally Armor 3D parts are printed and shipped within 3-5 business days.
