Figure 4 Modular Materials: Engineering for Production

The material selection for the Figure 4 system is curated to meet the needs of true production environments. These resins provide end-use properties, eliminating the need to transition from a prototype material to a manufacturing material. The modular architecture is supported by a cartridge-based delivery system, ensuring clean, easy material switching to maximize your machine’s throughput and versatility across different applications.

General Purpose & Durable Resins
This category of materials forms the backbone of the Figure 4 production platform, designed for robustness, high feature detail, and long-term use. They are suitable for functional prototypes, jigs, fixtures, and direct end-use components that require characteristics similar to traditional injection-molded plastics.

  • Figure 4 PRO-BLK 10: An excellent all-purpose, highly stable production plastic offering long-term mechanical stability for durable black parts.
  • Figure 4 Rigid (Gray & White): Provides a stiff, dimensionally accurate plastic for high-detail parts, enclosures, and tooling where low deflection is critical.
  • Figure 4 Tough (Clear, 60C, 65C): Engineered for high impact strength and moderate flexibility, these resins are ideal for parts that must endure repeated stress, such as snap-fits, master patterns, and functional test components.

High-Temperature & Fire-Retardant Resins

For applications that involve exposure to heat, chemicals, or strict safety standards, the specialized Figure 4 resins offer certified or extreme performance. These materials are indispensable for automotive, aerospace, and electronics manufacturing aids and components.

  • Figure 4 HI TEMP 300-AMB: Features one of the highest heat deflection temperatures (HDT) in DLP printing, making it perfect for tooling, hot-air functional testing, and parts requiring high thermal resistance up to 300ºC.
  • Figure 4 High Temp 150C FR Black: A high-temperature resin that combines thermal resistance with Flame Retardant (FR) properties, ideal for under-the-hood or electronics applications where safety and heat resistance are paramount.
  • Figure 4 Tough FR V0 Black: This material meets the UL94 V0 flammability standard, offering a tough, production-grade resin for electrical casings, internal components, and transport applications that require self-extinguishing characteristics.

Flexible & Rubber-Like Elastomers

The Figure 4 Modular system is capable of printing true elastomers with excellent compression, rebound, and long-term flexibility. These materials allow you to rapidly produce functional soft parts that traditionally require expensive molding processes.

  • Figure 4 RUBBER-65A BLK & RUBBER-BLK 10: These elastomeric resins are used for soft-touch handles, grips, seals, gaskets, and vibration dampening components. They mimic the mechanical performance of commercial rubber, providing high elongation and quick recovery.

Sacrificial & Casting Resins

These specialized resins are utilized for indirect manufacturing processes, enabling the production of parts with materials beyond the plastic capability of the Figure 4 printer itself.

  • Figure 4 EGGSHELL-AMB 10: This resin is designed for creating sacrificial patterns that can be easily removed or dissolved after use. It is primarily used for creating detailed RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanizing) molds for silicone or urethane casting.
