ProJet 2500 Printers
The VisiJet materials for the ProJet 2500 printers are engineered for maximum application diversity, allowing users to move fluidly between concept modeling, functional prototyping, and pattern production. They are delivered in clean, easy-to-load bottles and are designed to work in tandem with VisiJet Support material, which melts away easily without damaging delicate features.
& Engineering-Grade Plastics (VisiJet Rigid Materials)
The most commonly used ProJet 2500 materials are rigid plastics like VisiJet M2 RWT (Rigid White) and VisiJet M2 RBK (Rigid Black) — ideal when you need durable, stable parts with good surface finish.
These materials produce parts with high-fidelity surface finish and sharp feature definition, making them well-suited for prototypes, design verification, form-and-fit testing, housings, enclosures, jigs & fixtures, or other general-purpose plastic parts where strength, rigidity, and dimensional accuracy matter.
For users seeking more aesthetic options, the “Plus” version of ProJet 2500 supports additional rigid-plastic variants — including clear/translucent or opaque colors — allowing for more flexibility in appearance without sacrificing mechanical performance.
Elastomeric & Flexible Materials (VisiJet Elastomers)
For parts that require flexibility, resilience, or rubber-like behavior (e.g. gaskets, over-molds, flexible joints, soft-touch prototypes), ProJet 2500 supports elastomeric materials like VisiJet M2 EBK (Elastomeric Black) and VisiJet M2 ENT (Elastomeric Natural) — available on the “Plus” model.
These elastomeric materials offer impressive elongation (some report up to ~650% elongation at break), enabling production of soft, flexible parts that still retain durability and consistent elasticity.
They are well-suited for functional prototypes requiring flexibility (e.g. rubber feet, wearable parts, flexible enclosures, seals), ergonomic test models, or any use cases where rigid plastic would be inappropriate.
Castable Wax & Investment-Casting Materials (VisiJet Wax Resins)
For workflows that require metal casting via lost-wax (investment casting), ProJet 2500 supports dedicated wax-based materials — notably VisiJet M2 ICast (RealWax) — which behave like traditional casting wax in melt and burn-out characteristics, making them compatible with existing foundry processes.
Using these materials, you can 3D-print complex, high-detail wax patterns for small- to medium-sized cast parts — significantly reducing lead times compared to traditional wax tooling, while enabling design flexibility and rapid iteration.
This makes ProJet 2500 a powerful tool not just for plastics or prototypes — but for metal part production workflows, especially where complexity, geometry, or quick time-to-casting are critical
Support Materials & Post-Processing Consumables (VisiJet Support Wax and Clean-Up Supplies)
To complement build materials, ProJet 2500 uses a dedicated support material — VisiJet M2 SUP (wax-based) — which enables easy, hands-free support removal, especially when paired with the “EasyClean” system for post-processing.
This support system simplifies post-print processing — reducing manual cleanup time and making it practical to produce complex geometries, intricate internal structures, and detailed parts with minimal labor.
Including support materials and post-processing consumables in your materials catalog ensures that customers can complete a full print-to-finished-part workflow — from printing to cleaning to final use — without leaving the ecosystem.
